I am a mother myself and I appreciate the importance of good pictures of your children. I also appreciate that you want to get your money's worth. I have a daughter that is 5. I discovered soon after having her that I didn't like any of the "posed", big box pictures that most places offer and found that I never purchased any when I had her pictures made, along with many wasted sitting fees later, unfortunately. So, after being prodded to take my photography seriously by friends and family, I decided "why not do something I love doing?". So I went back to school, again, and soaked up all the photographic education I could get in an attempt to hone my skill. I have to tell you, I really love it. I didn't feel right charging people without some proof that I know what I'm doing! (at least I hope I do?!) and I continue in my belief that beautiful pictures of children and families should be affordable. I continue to take classes as the technology and digital age take over traditional photography. It's fun and satisfying. I hope to be doing photography only in the future, but right now I balance between photography and accounting. I much prefer the natural look in photos. My favorite is black and white. I feel that black and white really allows the personality of the individual rather than, say the color of the clothing or flower, etc. to shine through. I do on location shoots and studio shots at my home. I prefer outdoor shooting any day to studio shots and I find that kids are more themselves outdoors and uninhibited. I can recommend locations or you can tell me where to be. I have done shoots at Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, beside the road by a certain fence or landmark, even in yours or my own back yard. I've been to Bank of America Stadium, little league fields, dance classes, even to a first hair cut. There is no limit to the places and things we can work with, the only thing we need is permission to shoot there. There are some examples of my work on the site under the "gallery" page. I love to work with children. They are so genuine and free spirited. The pictures come out better when they are comfortable in their surroundings and comfortable with me. I don't schedule more than one shoot per day (unless it is for a portrait party) to give me and them time to get used to one another and I will shoot until we capture what you are looking for. As many outfits, poses, props, etc. as it takes! I want to create your forever memories the way you want them. Capturing the essence of your children being themselves.
